They are criticized by following reason:
1. The model
may not applied to all times, in all place and in all circumstances. It may not
follow the sequence stated by Maslow. Different people may have different
order.
2. The
behavior of a man is not a result of his needs or desires only. There is many
other determined of behavior such as perception, expectations and experience.
3. It over
looks the interaction of needs a person is hardly motivated by a single need.
4. It is
general expressions not specific . hierarchical order is not very much rigid as
Maslow himself accepted.
5. People
differ in their expectations significantly the same need does not lead to the
same response in all individual.
Monetary
incentive (direct incentive)
It is the most common an understandable from a
incentive-money is directly given in
addiction to wage and salary is incentive. It may be commission, bonus, profit sharing,
stocks etc. it is directly related to performance of an individual. This type
of incentive has a quick impact on the employees.
Non-monitory
incentive (indirect)
It is a type of incentive in which the compensation is in
other forms than money. It may be benefited (lunch holidays, study leave,
telephone etc) and service ( housing, transporting, lunch, discount car etc) it
may not appear clear as monitory incentive but as an incentive. It is also of
high important to an employee.
